Welcome to Plucky Goat Music School
The Plucky Goat Music School was started in early 2024 by Patrick McKenzie. Patrick is a multi-instrumentalist, professional musician and former primary school teacher who has worked with students of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Our music lessons are designed to inspire a love of music, to get people playing and being creative as soon as possible, and to teach skills that can be transferred across multiple instruments. We work with students of all ages and abilities in Marple (Greater Manchester) and provide free online chord charts for students all over the world.
In September 2026 we are moving into a permanent home at The Creative Corner, Goyt Mill, Marple. Although the space will primarily be set up as a music classroom, we plan to maintain the workshop and creative area to allow other creatives to run events.

He has restored for me a 1907 Ewald Glaesel mandolinetta, a 1920 s mandriola and a 1920s banjolin, all with exceptional precision and attention to detail. I have also seen his work on an oud, a kora, and a Nepalese sarangi, and of course guitars and ukuleles. Patrick has great sympathy with the instruments he works on and achieves an ideal balance of authenticity and playability."
